International Forestry Day and Novacart commitment for the environment

In 2012 the United Nations General Assembly established this international day on March 21 to promote and protect all kinds of forests in the world.

Forests are our main source of oxygen, they protect the soil from landslides and other natural disasters and contribute in protecting biodiversity, the flora and fauna of our countries. In Italy, forests take up 36,2% of the territory. Spreading awareness on this topic is fundamental to reduce the environmental damages caused by humans over the last decades, especially when it comes to the greenhouse effect.

We need to increase the quantity of trees on the planet’s forests, to diminish carbon dyoxide and weaken the increase of temperature, which is damaging our ecosystem. Deforestation increases every year by 15,5 milions of hectares: fighting this increase is the main focus of Forestry International Day. The greatest forests in the world are at risk, particularly in Asia, Africa and South America.

Every year the UN General Assembly encourages every country to organize events and activities that involve forests, such as events to raise awareness or to plant new trees. Every event arranged on this international day is a chance to learn more about the environment and educate about the importance of increasing the number of trees in the future.

Novacart and its commitment to produce ecological and sustainable products

Novacart is committed to protecting the environment and to producing recyclable and sustainable products. In fact, the raw materials used are mainly in FSC certified paper, derived from Scandinavian forests. This paper guarantees a conscious management of forests.

Furthermore, the company’s low energy lighting system and its stackable storing system contribute to reducing transportations, and consequently the production of CO2. Finally, Novacart works hard on research, too: its research lab called “Punto Rosso” studies the improvement of the production process, to find a cellulose treatment that can be recyclable and biocompatible and can be used in the food industry.
